The Castello di Susans Castello di Susans was built in the shape and architectural structure chosen in 1636 by Count Fabrizio di Colloredo, who was raised and educated in Tuscany at the court of Ferdinand I. The Count decided to build a beautiful Medici-type residence upon previous medieval ruins.
This “Tuscan villa” was thus built to give prestige to one of the most enchanting parts of Friuli.
The noble family of Colloredo lived in the castle up until the end of World War I, and for over three centuries.
